Bought this off ebay for $1250 because it had a 12a rotary engine swapped in place of the stock 1.3L Suzuki engine. According to the ad, it ran rough but drove ok. I went to Florida with the intention of driving it back, but after about 30 miles, I decided the car was undrivable.

Tried to return to Floria with a carb, but the airline wouldn't let me check it.

A couple months later I drove to Florida with Dave, we bought a trailer from the same person I bought the Samurai from, and we tried to tow it back to Vermont. About 60 miles north of where we picked up the Samurai, a tire on the trailer blew, which caused the trailer to jack-knife and nearly kill us. Fortunatly we had just pulled off of the Interstate, so we lived. It was late, so we tried to get a hotel room, unfortunatly there was a youth hockey tournament in town, so all hotels were sold out in a 30 mile radius.

We left the Samurai in a McDonalds parking lot, and drove for an hour until we found a hotel. We were lucky to get the room, since the person staying in it had left moments before, complaining of cockroaches, a broken TV, and a broken telephone. The next day we tried to buy a new tire for the trailer, but it was a Sunday, and no store that carried trailer tires was open. On Monday, we got the tire, picked up the Samurai, and continued driving north. In South Carolina I noticed the new trailer tire was looking low. We attempted to fill it, but it took 5 gas stations before we found one with a working air compressor. Shortly after, we hit a dove on the highway.

The new tire continued leaking air, and we had to stop and fill it every 150 miles. In the morning we stopped to get the tire fixed, but the hole was on the sidewall, so it coudn't be patched. We continued stopping every 150 miles for the rest of the drive. Eventually we made it back to Boston, where we unloaded the Samurai.

After this, I had no desire to fix it, and it sat parked for months before it was sold on ebay.
